Payment Gateways for Non Profits
Both Stripe and PayPal offer special programs for non-profit organizations to accept donations and receive discounted processing fees.
For Stripe, their program is called Stripe Giving, and it offers non-profits a discounted processing fee of 2.2% + $0.30 per transaction for eligible organizations in the US. Stripe Giving also offers tools to help non-profits manage their donations and donors, and to create customized donation forms that can be embedded on their website.
For PayPal, their program is called PayPal Giving Fund, and it allows eligible non-profits to receive donations through PayPal with no processing fees. PayPal Giving Fund also helps non-profits raise funds by promoting their cause to PayPal users, and by allowing donors to give to their chosen non-profit directly through the PayPal platform.
It’s important to note that not all non-profits may be eligible for these programs, and that there may be additional requirements or restrictions. It’s recommended that non-profits carefully review the terms and conditions of each program before applying.
Also, while these programs offer discounted or waived processing fees, there may still be other fees associated with using these payment gateways, such as chargeback fees or currency conversion fees.
